FAST PASS COURSE – What you need to know
Theory
Pupils on a Fast Pass Course usually sit their practical test right after their last driving lesson; this means that you must have passed your theory before you start your intensive driving lessons.
How much time does a Fast Pass course take?
It depends on how ambitious you are: a complete beginner who wants their licence in 8-9 days could book an average of 5hrs a day, including weekends, or 7-8hrs excluding weekends for example.
If you are familiar with cars and already have driving experience, it might be a great way to speed things up and get you up to scratch in no time.
Bear in mind…
A Fast Pass course calls for a clear timetable: we wouldn’t suggest intensive driving lessons if you are working on an important project and have deadlines. It is also important to plan for a re-sit; if you happen to fail your driving test, you have to wait at least 10 working days before you can attempt it again. If that is the case, you may need a few extra driving lessons to keep you sharp until your next test.
Is it for you?
An intensive driving course requires concentration skills – it is a lot to process over a short period of time. If you learn best hands-on however, you are likely to thrive!
It is important to consider your ability to learn for life: an intensive fast pass course teaches you all the skills you need, but does not allow you to consolidate those in the long term. Therefore you will need to keep driving at least once a week after passing your test.
If you are not road-savvy, a fast pass course could be stressful; there is a lot to remember and no margin for error. Intensive driving lessons are a great choice if you prefer learning through intensive practice.
To put it simply … an Intensive Fast Pass course is for You if:
You have plenty of time over the duration of your course;
You are able to focus over long periods of time with only short breaks;
Have a good memory and can multitask;
Enthusiastic, persistent and eager to learn;
You have previous driving experience and/or are technically-minded.
